DAGNENTE

Literally a minute's walk from our villa. 

It is run by a local family, the dishes on offer are very good and the prices incredibly affordable. Unfortunately it is only open for lunch. 

 

SAN CARLO

A terrace that offers a dream view of Lake Maggiore and the Castle of Angera. This alone is worth spending an evening here. The restaurant offers pizza and a great variety of dishes.

 

MONTRGIASCO

One of the oldest restaurants in the area (1969), family run.

The atmosphere is elegant and welcoming, the food is excellent, definitely one of our favorite places.

 

ARONA

Here you can choose combinations of Piedmontese specialties combined with the right wine, suggested by the owners.

 

Vecchia Arona + 39 0322 242469

La Vecchia Arona is a historic restaurant, recently taken over by a couple of expert restaurateurs who carry on the tradition of genuine and artisanal cuisine with local ingredients.

 

La Ruga del Corso + 39 0322 44196

In the characteristic Piazza San Graziano in Arona, you can dine by candlelight at Ruga del Corso. The cuisine is excellent and offers fish and meat dishes.

 

La Nautica +39-0322243283

If you book in advance (or just avoid the weekend), you can dine at the top of a small tower with a splendid view over the lake. It offers delicious and unusual dishes based on fish or meat but also pizza.

 

Da Aldo +39-0322243195

Da Aldo is located in Piazza del Popolo with a splendid view of the Rocca di Angera. It is a pizzeria but also offers excellent traditional Italian dishes based on meat or fish.

 

La Taverna del Pittore +39-0322 243366

It's definitely one of the best restaurants in Arona, and definitely one of the most expensive. The food is simply superb and the wine selection will not disappoint.

The pizza is amazing. Prepared with a special type of yeast and cooked in the "Neapolitan" way. 

 

Aperitif or light dinner

A good selection of innovative cocktails and excellent tapas to choose from for an alternative aperitif to the usual cheeses and cured meats.

It offers a great place for a quick but quality meal. Great variety of sandwiches and salads, all cooked with genuine ingredients. 

 

Strobino

Strobino is a bakery in Piazza del Popolo and is a great place for a nice breakfast in the square or for a classic Italian aperitif. 

 

Il Cafè della Sera:

It is also a restaurant, but we especially appreciate the aperitif served in a welcoming environment.

 

Corte della Rocchetta +39 349 590 1958

La Corte della Rocchetta is a lovely park just above Arona (five minutes' walk), which offers a breathtaking view of Arona and the lake. 

You can relax on the grass reading a book or try an aperitif offered by the bar.

 

LESA AND BELGIRATE

 

Along the lake, on the road to Stresa and Borromeo Island, is Lesa with two excellent restaurants: the Battipalo and the Rapanello. Immediately after Belgirate with the Bruma.

 

STRESA

 

Stresa is a beautiful city, but it is quite touristy.

To eat well here, just go into the internal streets of the city, avoiding the too touristy places.

 

Sky Bar:

Located at the top of the "La Palma" hotel, it offers an extraordinary view of Lake Maggiore to be combined with an excellent aperitif.
